Student Publications Assistant (Hourly)

Starting Pay: $15/hour to start, depending on experience
Days/Hours: 10 hours/week during business hours;
20-30 hours in summer
Location: Meyer Library

Summer, Fall, and Winter Quarters

The SULAIR Publications group (part of SULAIR’s Information
Center) provides Web-based and print publications support for the
Green Library Information Center, as well as for various services
and projects of SULAIR, an organization that develops and implements
resources and services within the University libraries and academic
technology units that support research and instruction.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Help prepare and maintain Web-based and printed documents.
Convert printed documents into HTML and PDF formats. Help with printing
and distribution of documents. Take photos as necessary for publications
and maintain the online photo database. Perform clerical tasks such
as filing, photocopying, running errands, and making deliveries as
needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of and experience with using HTML, Microsoft
Office, and Adobe products
(especially, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat).
• Proficiency with Macintosh OS X (Tiger or Leopard); experience
with Microsoft Windows operating system preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with graphics preparation for
Web and print publications.
• Knowledge of and experience with drupal (or similar content
management system) preferred.
• Careful attention to detail and good organization skills.
• Good writing and editing skills.
• Ability to communicate well in verbal and written English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, keep up with a schedule, and
work under deadlines.
• Use of NetPublish or similar software for archiving/displaying
photos preferred.
• Familiarity with Stanford’s libraries and their resources.
• Familiarity with Stanford’s computing resources.
