Nicolas Barker is editor of The
Book Collector and author of many books,
among them Stanley
Morison (1972),
Bibliotheca Lindesiana (1977), Aldus
Manutius and the Development of Greek Script and Type in the
Fifteenth Century (second edition,
1992). He is also editor of A Potencie of
Life: Books in Society: The Clark Lectures, 1986-1987 (British
Library Studies in the History of the Book) 1993, and ABC
for Book Collectors, by John Carter (eighth edition, 2004).
Mr. Barker will also be giving a lecture on Literary
Forgery as a Fine Art on Friday, April 8, 2005 at
3:30 p.m. in the Stanford Humanities Center.
