Formerly known as the "ACLS History E-Book Project," now includes university press and learned society books across the humanities. Over 2,200 titles as of January 2009.

Cambridge Books Online
From the Cambridge University Press, about 5,000 titles in all subject areas.
Cambridge Histories Online
The complete collection of this well-known reference series of 250 works, covering regional and world history, as well as topical histories.
Casalini EIO
Casalini Editoria Italiana Online includes nearly 8,000 Italian imprints (monographs, conference proceedings, and journal runs) published from the 1970s through the present, covering history, classics, anthropology, archaeology, philosophy, and other fields.
Dissertations and Theses
Information about locating dissertations and theses, both those completed at Stanford University and those from other universities.
ebrary
Full-text searching and retrieval of over 65,000 titles in various disciplines, with a rich "information toolset." Printing and copying from ebrary are allowed, although particular titles may have print/copy page limits.
Eighteenth-Century Collections Online (ECCO)
More than 150,000 books and pamphlets published during the 18th century. With full-text searching of approximately 26 million pages from titles in the fields of history, literature, religion, law, fine arts, science and more.
Elsevier ScienceDirect Books
More than 6,000 reference works, handbooks, monographs, and series, primarily in the sciences (including some social science titles).
Gutenberg-e
Full-text scholarly monographs in history, available originally and exclusively as digital books, presented by Columbia University Press and the American Historical Association. Includes nearly 50 titles as of January 2009.
Knovel
Engineering and scientific online reference works, including the CRC Handbook of Chemistry & Physics. As of January 2009, includes about 2,000 works.

MyiLibrary
About 26,000 e-books (as of June 2009) from notable publishers

National Academies Press
Full text searching and viewing of more than 3,700 titles (as of August 2008) in various disciplines.

Oxford Scholarship Online

O'Reilly publications on technology, numbering more than 6,600 titles as of January 2009. Stanford's subscription allows for 6 simultaneous users, so please log out of Safari when you're done.
Sci-Technet Base
This collection includes 4,570
e-books (January 2009) covering scientific and technical information, including handbooks and single-volume reference sources.
SourceOECD
An online library of statistical databases, periodicals, and about 1,000 e-books (January 2009) from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
SpringerLink
Books, journals, protocols and reference materials, in all subject areas, from Springer. As of March 2010, includes more than 36,000 e-books in more than 1,000 series.
Web Archiving @ Stanford University Libraries (New!)
A searchable, curated collection of at-risk social science resources harvested from the Web, including government documents, Freedom of Information Act requests, and a growing list of other sources.
World Bank e-Library
A cross-searchable collection of over 4,500 World Bank documents, including more than 1,800 World Bank publications and 2,700 Policy Research Working Papers as of November 2008.
