Monographs: Books and Series Volumes
Books and monograph series volumes received in the Library are
listed on Socrates Stanford's
web-based catalog. Most are shelved in call number order on the
main floor of the library.
Some of the older materials are shelved in the basement; their
location is listed as earth-sci, storage. Ask at the Circulation
Desk if the item you need is not on the shelf.
All circulating monographs (including books, monographic series
volumes, maps, machine readable materials, theses, and technical
reports) may be borrowed for 28 days. Items are subject to recall
after the initial seven days if needed by another borrower or immediately
when needed for course reserve. Items not needed by another borrower
may be renewed.
Some monograph series volumes are listed in Socrates
only under the name of the series. If you don't find the title or
author you are looking for, try searching other
libraries' catalogs for further clues on how to find the item
you need. If you still don't find the item you are looking for,
try searching subject indexes,
or send a request to Branner
reference staff.
