Map Collections
Stanford Geological Survey
Permissions
Branner Earth Sciences Library & Map collections received a California
State Library, Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant to catalog
and scan the maps and field notebooks created during the existence of
the Stanford Geological Survey (SGS), roughly between 1895 and 1995. In
order to include your work, we need permission to scan and digitize maps,
field notebooks, or field reports prepared by you as an individual or
as a member of a group. We are also willing to add materials to the collection
as not all years of the Survey are represented by our holdings.
The scanned maps and reports will be included on an Internet designed
specifically for the purpose. The collection is available online and viewable
through the Luna Insight browser. You may access the collections here
form
If you have questions, please phone or email Julie Sweetkind-Singer
or Jane Ingalls. You may also contact us using the
attached form.
If you are willing to have your materials scanned and displayed, please
fill out the form giving Stanford
nonexclusive revocable rights to digital forms of the maps, notebooks,
and reports.
