For reports produced in the Stanford School of Earth Sciences,
as well as California Division of Mines, Geological Survey of Canada
and other state and provincial open-file reports search first in
SOCRATES. These reports
can be searched by author, title, and performing organization. If
the only information you have is the technical report number, try
consulting the NTIS
Database or one of the other sources listed above. If you don't
find the report that you need, fill in a Document
Delivery Online Request Form.
Technical reports are acquired in a wide variety of formats: maps,
bound volumes, microfiche, videotape, etc. All technical reports
may be borrowed for 28 days (graduate students and faculty borrow
items by the quarter). Items are subject to recall after the initial
seven days if needed by another borrower or immediately when needed
for course reserve. Items not needed by another borrower may be
renewed.
Reports owned by the Branner Library are shelved in the library
according to the table below. For further help ask at the Reference
Desk.
