The full text of more than 40,000 technical papers submitted to the Society of Petroleum Engineers 1951-present is available. The collection includes meeting papers, and unsolicited papers, as well as many of those published in the Journal of petroleum technology (JPT) and other peer-reviewed SPE journals. Indexing is provided.

Branner Library maintains a full print subscription to all of the peer-reviewed SPE journals and annual conference as well. A microfiche set of the papers (1951-1995) is also available in Branner Library.

All SPE Members may access OIL's index and order papers using their own member number.
