Indexes & Library Catalogs

These tools will lead you to maps that may be held at Stanford but which are not listed (or not listed separately) in SearchWorks. Those resources whose use is restricted to members of the Stanford community are marked with the Stanford only icon. The Restricted Electronic Resources page allows Stanford users to connect to many databases from outside the Stanford Network. Choose the [help] after a database name to see help for that resource.

  • Names, Geographical [Place] (e.g., Names geographical California) [origins of place names]
  • Geography Dictionaries [for world-wide gazetteers]
