Course Reserves
The Branner Library provides reserve services for the School of Earth
Sciences.
Checking out reserve materials: Consult the online
Reserves
Catalog or the Reserves Loose Leaf Binder at the Branner Circulation
Desk (includes processing status information) to identify items on reserve.
Present current ID to use materials. Most reserve materials circulate
for two hours; note carefully the expected return time when checking
out reserves. Reserve materials may be renewed by phone if no one is
waiting for them. They may be checked out overnight one hour before
the library closes and returned within the first hour after opening
on the following day. Please return reserve materials directly to Branner's
circulation desk. Because ready and equal access to reserve materials
is critical to the academic enterprise, stiff fines are assessed for
tardy responses to items recalled for reserves and for reserve items
kept beyond their loan period. We require your prompt action in helping
make reserve items available to your colleagues.
Attention Instructors / TA's ! The Libraries' new web-based Course Reserve Form is NOW LIVE!
For More information
Use the online Reserves Request form to submit or edit a reserve list for your class or authorize someone else to edit the reserve list for your class!
Placing items on reserve: To place items on reserve, please
provide adequate time to process lists. Allow 24 hours for turnaround,
especially at the beginning of the quarter. While some items may
already be in the library, others may need to be recalled or purchased.
Before each quarter, a letter calling for reserve items is sent to faculty
along with a list of items previously placed on reserve. To expedite
requests, please amend the old list and provide complete bibliographic
citations for new items before returning the list to Branner. You may
need to obtain copyright clearance for photocopies or scanned versions
before we can place them on reserve for you. You may send e-mail requests to Carlin Otto, bring
requests for reserves to her in person at Branner's
Circulation Desk, or call her at 723-1231.
