I request Payson J. Treat Funds to support a Unicorn processing web based training tool for instructing :

• Project objective: To provide new employee Unicorn training support for Technical Services Units.
  
• Brief description of the project: Using the TechPort model, design and publish an online, interactive, self-paced training tool for new employees. The training site would include instruction in the Unicorn production modules used in Acquisitions, Cataloging & Metadata processing (ordering, receiving, cataloging)
  
• Staff involvement: Alfonso Haley, Lee Chang and Nataliya Odessa would devote ten hours per week overtime to the project.
  
• In what ways is the proposal innovative and of value to SULAIR: This training tool will provide consistent training for new employees in the various aspects of Unicorn processing while freeing supervisory staff from the time commitment associated with training new staff in Unicorn processing
  
• Basic work plan: Design an interactive, self-paced Unicorn specific course using SkillSoft technology http://www.skillsoft.com/online/elearning/default.asp ; publish the course on the www-sul.stanford.edu/ web space for SULAIR staff
