1. NEW EMAIL ADDRESS FOR SUBMITTING SUL/AIR NEWS ARTICLES

Please note that there's a new email address you should use when submitting articles for SUL/AIR News:

sulairnews@forsythe

We've had to change the address for a variety of administrative reasons.

So, remember, if you have work-related items that would be of interest to all staff, please send them to:

sulairnews@forsythe

Example topics include new projects, new SUL/AIR staff, significant acquisitions, and all-staff announcements.More information about submitting a SUL/AIR News article is on the Web at :

http://www-sul.stanford.edu/depts/diroff/news/guidelines.htm

2. USE OF STANFORD EQUIPMENT OFF-CAMPUS

When Stanford equipment is used off-campus (e.g. employee's home), a Stanford Off-Campus Equipment Verification Worksheet must be filled out and the Capital Asset Management System (CAMS) record must be updated. The off-campus verification form must be kept on file with the Department Property Administrator (Cindy Skalski) and updated annually. The annual update is to verify that the equipment is still in the same location and in good working order. The Physical Inventory Group uses this information to assist them in the physical inventory. This eliminates the need for employees to bring the equipment back onto campus to be scanned during the Physical Inventory.

If you currently have Stanford equipment located off-campus and have not completed an off-campus form within the past twelve months, please be sure to complete one and send it to Cindy Skalski, Sweet Hall, M/C 3090. You can print copies of the form, including instructions for use, on-line at:

http://www.Stanford.edu/group/Desktop_2000/corefin/asseta/aaset.htm

(Note that when a URL wraps to a second line, clicking on it in an email message may not take you to the correct page. Type the complete URL into your browser window to reach your destination.)

Click on tools and then Off-Campus Equipment Verification Form.

The Physical Inventory for SUL/AIR is scheduled for March 20 - March 31, 2000. Preparation activities, expectations, etc. for the inventory will be announced in February.

3. NEW EMPLOYEE AT ART

We're already rocketing through the Winter Quarter, and I still haven't made a formal announcement that we have a new employee at the Art Library. Meredith Miller began with us as a student worker last quarter, and at the end of December replaced Suzanne Maguire-Negus as our part-time Serials Specialist.

Meredith comes to us with a studio art degree in Photography from the University of Chicago. She is still busy with her own work and plans to eventually continue her education in art. We feel very lucky to have her working with us. She is at the library M-F, 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
