1. "Night Skies & Imaginary Coordinates: The Artist as Navigator"
Are you interested in celestial cartography? If so, the Palo Alto Art Center
is presenting a new exhibit beginning on June 27th: Night Skies & Imaginary
Coordinates: The Artist as Navigator. The exhibit features over 70 pieces of
historic and contemporary works including a display of 16-19th century
celestial maps. Also included will be works by Athanasius Kircher from
Stanford's Special Collections.
The exhibit runs from June 27-September 8, 2002 at the Palo Alto Art Center,
1313 Newell Road, Palo Alto. An opening reception will be held from 6-7:30 on
the night of the 27th.
