2. LELAND VACATION PROGRAM ON THE WEB

Going on holiday soon? Need to leave a vacation message for your email? If so, don't log in to Leland... now you can set email vacation from the Web.

The old Leland vacation program that let you set an "out of the office" message via the Leland Systems command line has been retired. It's been replaced by a new Web-based feature in Stanford.You. To setup an auto-reply for your Leland account, go to the Stanford. You Web page at:

http://www.stanford.edu/services/stanford.you

Click on "your SUNet services settings." Scroll to the "Vacation message" section. Click on "change." After you've followed the directions and saved your changes, remember to click on the "Logout" button.

By default, your vacation message will respond only to email addressed directly to your @stanford/@leland addresses. This prevents the vacation message from being sent to distribution lists that include you.

3. FAMILY STATUS CHANGES ON THE WEB

NEW BENEFITS SERVICE The Benefits Office is launching a new service for Stanford employees, benefits changes on the Web. This service makes it much easier to change benefits outside of the normal Open Enrollment period in November.

30 DAYS TO CHANGE As always, benefits changes must be made within 30 days after the qualifying event (marriage, birth, going on leave, etc.). A complete list of events and their corresponding changes is posted on the Web site, http://hrweb.stanford.edu/

Along with the new Web service comes an added advantage. Family Status Changes will now be covered retroactively from the date of the life event, provided the benefits are updated within the 30-day period.
