1. NEW SUL/AIR ORGANIZATION CHART

In Mike Keller's 4/29/98 email to SUL/AIR staff about changes in various administrative assignments, he indicated that a new organization chart would be on the Web soon. It is now available at

http://www-sul.stanford.edu/staff/index.html

Note that we've provided three versions (for large and small monitors and those who prefer a PDF version).

2. INFORMATION DESK IN GREEN LIBRARY

Volunteers needed! Join us at the Information Desk in Green Library. Help people get started using the library. (Where's the South Mezzanine? Do you have this book?) It's fun, the people you help are friendly and appreciative, and it's easy.

Current openings are mostly afternoon hours. Units provide release time from your regular duties. Training will be cheerfully provided by yours truly, so don't let "not knowing how" keep you away. If you are interested and can commit one hour a week for at least a quarter, please contact Liz Green at 5-1058 or emgreen@sulmail.

5. NEXT QUESTION, PLEASE...

Here, as promised, the Joanne Hoffman Last Dance Reference Question:

"In my ethics class, we were discussing rules of action and the Categorical Imperative, and my prof. quoted Henry Fielding as having written something like: 'We write Rules and Laws, we invent Philosophies, we pronounce Dogmas, but Nothing is Finally and Truly Good except Good-Nature.' Did he write anything like this and where can I find it?"

The nice part about this is that I don't know where to find it myself. It's a bit of memory residue from my undergraduate days. A full accounting will be given in the next issue.
