1. PsychInfo and ERIC Again Available through EndNote

We have set up a new pathway that will allow users of EndNote bibliographic software to connect directly to the OCLC versions of ERIC and PsychInfo. Once connected, users can load search results directly into EndNote, without having to import them. For more information about this service, please see this page:

http://www-sul.stanford.edu/webhelp/zaccess.html

The link there from the phrase "connection files" leads to a page from which users can download the required EndNote connection files. A connection file for Socrates is also available. Users must be on the Stanford University Network (SUNet) to make an EndNote connection. The only way of connecting from off-campus is by dialing into the University's modem pool, which provides a SUNet IP address.

2. Check Home Addresses for W-2 Delivery

Now is the time to remind employees in your area to be sure their "W-2 Address" is correct in the online Faculty/Staff Directory; Payroll & Records will be mailing W-2 forms in January.

The employee can update their address in Stanford. You by accessing the website https://stanfordyou.stanford.edu.

Payroll/Personnel administrators can view or change Directory and W-2 addresses of employees whose records they have access to, by typing, from the Forsythe computer, PRISM SEL CHRIS PEOPLE//ENT DIR and then following the instructions.

3. Janet Sakai Appointed Curatorial Assistant

Janet Sakai was appointed to the position of Curatorial Assistant with the Department of Special Collecitons effective October 22, 2001. Janet comes to Special Collections from SUL's Acquisitions Department and with over eight years of library experience. In Special Collections Janet will work in three major areas: copy cataloging, bibliographic research in support of the book collection development program, and serve as the administrative associate for the Department. Janet received a degree in library technology from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills in 1998 and actually took her copy cataloging class at Foothill from Barry Hinman, the rare book cataloguer for Special Collections at Stanford. Please join me in welcoming Janet to the staff of Special Collections.
