1. SLA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

The San Andreas Professional Development Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming Fall Workshop entitled "Taxonomist, Knowledge Engineer: What's in a Name?".

The program will be held Friday, October 20, from 9:00am- 12:30pm at Gilead Sciences, 333 Lakeside Drive in Foster City. Registration is from 8:30am-9:00am; with the program beginning at 9:00am. 2. NEWS FROM THE HOOVER EAST ASIAN COLLECTION

Hoover East Asian Collection (EAC) now subscribes to the NACSIS-IR Web-Front of the National Institute of Informatics in Japan. NACSIS-IR provides overseas users 44 Japanese language databases in the fields of humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, and allows patrons to search many databases simultaneously. Access is restricted to members of the Stanford community; NACSIS-IR is available at the EAC. Please contact Naomi Kotake at kotake@hoover for more information.

3. LAW LIBRARY HOURS CHANGE

The Law School is on semesters instead of quarters so our Summer hours to Fall hours change is at a different time from the rest of the University. Our Fall hours will start on September 5th thusly:

Monday - Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday 8AM - Midnight
8AM - 6PM
9AM - 5PM
10AM - Midnight

We will be closed September 4th (Labor Day).
