Future Engineering Library
New Engineering Quad
|
The SEQ2 Library — envisioned to be a major program element within the new School of Engineering Center
building — will be a forward-looking facility that reflects the preeminent reputation of the Stanford School
of Engineering. The purpose of this facility, its services and its collections will be to provide an environment
for information discovery, utilization, creation, and management.
This will be a library in the most advanced definition of that term. The space and the services provided
are designed to foster collaboration among students and faculty, and to support discovery and retrieval of information
resources resident in the Library and on the Stanford Campus, as well as digital ones.
Further Information
The summary document for the entire building is available at: School of Engineering Center: Engineering at the Crossroads (PDF).
The full program statement for the SEQ2 Library, developed by SULAIR staff to inform the design work of architects, is available at:
SEQ2 Library Vision: The Information Collaboratory (rev. 07/05/06) (PDF).
In addition, we offer the most recent presentation on the project by Engineering Library director, Helen Josephine.
WebCam
The webcam mounted on the Nanotechnology Building overlooks
the Engineering Quad construction site. A new progress photo is posted daily and older ones
are archived for your viewing pleasure!
