Renewals
Reserve items and journals may not be renewed by Web, phone or email. Reserve
items and journals may be renewed in person.
Renewal Limits: Two Web, phone, or email renewals
are allowed. Once this limit is reached, a patron must renew in person
at the library with the item(s) in hand. Reserves and journals may NOT
be renewed by Web, email, or phone.
Institutional borrowers can ONLY renew books IN PERSON with one coupon
per book per renewal.
A book may NOT be renewed if:
- Another patron has placed a hold or a recall on it.
- The ID card is expired or is blocked.
- The renewal limit has been reached.
How to Renew
Web Renewals: Go to My
Circulation Records. You'll need your SUNet ID and password.
Email Renewals: (For those unable to use Web Renewal)
Fill out a form using Quick
Submit.
OR
Send renewals to: englibrary@stanford.edu
Submit:
- your full name,
- your ID number, the 9 underlined digits at the lower right-hand
corner of your current I.D. card,
- the barcode numbers of the books (found on the inside of the back
cover, beginning 36105...).
Once sent, please allow one business day for processing. ALWAYS
wait for a response stating either a new due date or any complications
preventing renewal. NEVER assume books have been renewed without confirmation!

Phone renewals are only accepted: Monday through Friday, 9 am to
noon
Have ready:
- your full name,
- the barcode numbers of the books (found on the inside of the back
cover, beginning 36105...).
- the 9 underlined digits at the lower right-hand corner of your
current I.D. card
In-Person Renewals:
Bring:
- your valid I.D. card and
- the books, or
- if you have not reached the renewal limit, a list of the barcode
numbers of the books that you want to renew.
