Archaeology Data Service
A service that provides free, rich data for the United Kingdom
and Ireland. The site also includes links to journals, bibliographies,
practice modules, and reference works.
- Cultural
Resources Mapping & GIS Services: National Park Service
A site explaining the use of GIS and GPS in the National Park
Service. Over 90 Civil War battlefields have been mapped so
far.
- Digging Digitally
A weblog "for archaeology and the Internet, & semi-official news of the SAA Digital Data Interest Group."
- ECAI: Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative
ECAI is a global consortium of scholars interested in visualizing human culture through
time using GIS technology. The Web site includes links to dozens of projects, a
dynamic map catalog, useful technology such as TimeMap, and information about joining
the group.
- ESRI
and Archaeology
ESRI's archaeology page includes relevant books, back issues
of their Archaeology Newsletter, and a list of resources.
- GIS for Achaeology and CRM
A blog devoted to "all aspects of geospatial data and technology, particularly where it applies to archaeology and cultural resource management."
- Online Archaeology
A site out of the United Kingdom with books, articles, and links to information of
interest to archaeologists. Includes a link to IT and Archaeology with a
section on GIS.

Landscape Research Centre (LRC)
Landscape Research Centre (LRC) uses their own GDMS package,
and have produced one of the most rounded digital archives
in the UK. The archive incorporates multi resolution Aerial
and Satellite imagery, geophysical data, 3D site data and
GIS layers.
GIS and Remote
Sensing for Archaeology: Burgundy, France
The research team involved in this project is using an integrative approached called
historical ecology, “the multi-scalar analysis of the interaction of different cultures
and the environment over time.” The group includes archaeologists, historians,
ecologists, anthropologists, geologists, art historians, ethnographers, and linguists.

An Internet GIS Project
This site includes maps, photographs, moving images, text,
and dynamic imagery developed with virtual GIS.
FastiOnline
FastiOnline is a database of archaeological excavations since the year 2000. The focus is on Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Croatia, Albania, and Slovenia.
