INTRODUCTION
The Barchas Room, named for Samuel I. and Cecile M. Barchas, is located between the Lane Reading Room and the Field Room on the second floor, and serves as the Special Collections seminar room. It houses the Samuel I. and Cecile M. Barchas Collection in the History of Science and Ideas.
HISTORY The space that now houses the Barchas Room used to be called the Timothy Hopkins Room. The Hopkins Room is now located in the northwest corner of the third floor of the Bing Wing, and houses the offices of the Associates of the Stanford University Libraries (ASUL).
