IC iMac Cluster: In the IC,
there are 19 dual-boot, iMacs (Windows and MacOS) available for patron
use. To reach this cluster on the first (1st) floor of Green East,
proceed past the Information Desk and the Current Newspaper shelves
and turn right at the green statue (or ask for directions at the Information Desk.)
SUNet ID is required to use these computers.
View current software loaded on machines
in the iMac cluster.
IC-periodicals PC Cluster: Located on the other side of the room you will find 11 Windows-only computers. These Dell SX280's have the same windows installation as you'll find on the dual-boot iMac--just the hardware is different. Note: This hardware will be replaced by iMacs summer 2009.
Click the following to view
current software loaded in the IC pc cluster.
Note: All machines
have CD-RW/DVD drives and USB ports to plug in flash
(thumb) drives.
Scan Station: Green Library--Information Center now has
three (3) Scan Stations for our patrons to use. The stations are located
in the iMac cluster. Two of the scanners will scan up to 8 1/2x14 and there is one large format scanner able to scan up to 11x17 sized docs.
The scan station can only be accessed by those with
a valid SUNet ID. Software available for patrons to use is as follows:
- Abbyy Fine Reader --> (PC Only) OCR scanning and
format converting software.
- Epson Scan --> Can be used instead of Abbyy but doesn't
have as good an OCR feature as does Abbyy.
- Image Capture (MacOS Only)
- (Additional software loaded on the scan stations can be found here-- PC|Mac)
Scanning documentation can be found next to the scan station.
