The
Making of the Modern World: The Goldsmiths'-Kress Library
of Economic Literature, 1450-1850. This full-text, fully
searchable database combines the strengths of the Goldsmiths'
Library of Economic Literature at the University of London
and the Kress Library of Business and Economics at Harvard
with supplementary materials from the Seligman Collection
in Columbia's Butler Library and from the libraries of Yale
University. Almost 12 million pages present more than 61,000
books from the period 1460-1850, and 466 pre-1906 serials,
offering a comprehensive witness to the theories, practices,
and consequences of economic and business activity in the
West.
The National Archives.
One of the largest archived collections in the world, the
National Archives spans 1000 years of British history. Certain
documents are available online.
The Norton Anthology of English Literature Online
The
Online Library of Liberty (Liberty Fund). This free
website makes available hundreds of full-length classic
texts
on the nature of individual
liberty, limited and constitutional government, and the free
market. Every author has a biography page with information
about their life and work and a list of their online titles.
The authors are grouped by historical period and into schools
of thought.
Treasures of
the National Archives. The Public Record's Office virtual
museum, displaying highlights from its collection online.
Oxford Dictionary of National
Biography. 50,000 biographies of people who shaped the
history of the British Isles and beyond, from the earliest
times to the year 2001.

Search Premier from EBSCO. Provides access to journal
articles in most academic areas of study. It includes full-text
coverage for over 1,530 journals from 1990 to the present
and abstracts/indexing of nearly 3,000 journals from 1984
to the present. 
JSTOR
Search. A full-text database of over 500 scholarly journals.

The
Journal of British Studies. North America's premier publication
for the study of British history and civilization, JBS publishes
research articles and thematic review essays by an array of
international authors in history, literature, and allied disciplines
in the humanities and social sciences. 
The
English Historical Review. First published in 1886, The
English Historical Review is the oldest journal of historical
scholarship in the English-speaking world. It deals not only
with British history, but with almost all aspects of European
and world history since the classical era. 
The
Historical Journal. The Historical Journal publishes
papers on all aspects of British, European, and world history
since the fifteenth century.
