Content: This collection consists of microfilm of books,
pamphlets, periodicals, manuscripts, and photographs through 1920,
predominantly 19th-century material drawn from the collections
of Smith and Radcliffe College. Also included are resources from
other
libraries on the settlement house movement, social reform in the
late 19th century, the role of women in the settling ofthe American
West, and Medieval and European women.
Access: Titles of books, pamphlets, and manuscripts are in Socrates.
Individual titles of periodicals and photographs are not in Socrates.
Staff in Media-Microtexts will retrieve material from the collection if
you specify "Microfilm n.s. 1508" and provide an item's entry
number from Socrates (for books, pamphlets, and manuscripts), or History
of Women: Guide to the Microfilm Collection (for periodicals
and photographs). Copies of which are located in both General Reference
and Media-Microtexts.

A single volume index to books, pamphlets, and manuscripts, arranged
alphabetically by author with complete bibliographic information. At
the end of each entry, the reel and item location numbers appear in
italics. A separate alphabetical list of periodicals is included in
which the titles are identified by reel number and date range. A series
of photographs on reel #963 are indexed, listing each person shown in
alphabetical order, along with the identification number. Also includes
a subject index.
