The Eighteenth Century: A Microfilm Collection Based on The Eighteenth-Century Short Title Catalogue

Call Number: Microfilm n.s. 3078

Content: When finished, the collection will contain microfilm copies of all eighteenth-century materials printed in the British Empire, or printed in English elsewhere in the world from 1701-1800.

Access: Individual titles are not in Socrates. For staff in Media-Mcrotexts to retrieve material from the collection, specify "Microfilm n.s. 3078" and provide an item's reel number from the English Short Title Catalog (select ESTC from the Stanford databases or from within Folio) or The Eighteenth-Century: Guide to the Microfilm Collection, which can be found in Media-Microtexts.

English Short-Title Catalog (ESTC)
Available either on-line through the Stanford databases or through Folio. Covering English books from 1475 to 1800, this is the most flexible searching tool available, with indices for author, words in title, printer, publisher, place, and date. Provides reel numbers for all microfilmed items.

Provides convenient detailed searching. Lists reel numbers of titles that had been microfilmed when theCD-ROM was produced.
