Content: This collection seeks to be comprehensive for works by
women first published in Britain from 1801-1900; it consists of microfilms
on a range of subjects including military, naval, medieval, modern, and
colonial history; criminology; detective, sensation, silver-fork, historical,
domestic and romantic fiction; near pornography; studies of modern marriage
and sexology; sociologies of upper-, middle-, and lower-class life; political
treatises, works of feminist argument and polemic; theologic disquisition
and medical writing, as well as representative samples of drama and verse.
The development of the collection is in progress, working alphabetically,
and is complete through "D", representing 24 of a projected
90 units.
Access: Individual titles are not in Socrates. Staff in Media-Microtexts
will retrieve material from the collection if you specify "Women
Writers Collection" and provide an item's entry number from the loose-leaf
