| The Libraries' collections in British and Commonwealth literatures
principally support research and teaching in the Department of English
and in the Programs in Comparative Literature and in Modern Thought.
The collections are designed to map the evolution of literary cultures
in their full historical, class, and ethnic diversity. Geographical
scope extends to English-language literature worldwide, with particular
concentration on production in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada,
South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
