Tip: To locate other reference books (i.e. bibliographies, encyclopedias, dictionaries) about a specific topic, select Combined Search in Socrates, enter a search term in the Everything or Subject field, and select Green–Information Center [IC] or Green–Humanities and Area Studies Resource Center in the Green location field. For example, a subject search for African American Literature in the IC retrieves over 30 titles, such as African American Writers: A Dictionary, The Oxford Companion to African American Literature, and A Bibliographical Guide to African American Women Writers.
