"The people will triumph!"

Guillermo Nunez (1973)

Violeta Parra is a famous Chilean folk singer, extremely popular in the 1970's for her song, "Gracias a la Vida," or "Thanks to Life."

"Children in the night I (for Gabriela Mistral)"

Gabriela Mistral was the first Chilean and the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, in 1941. Her poems often describe children and their sufferings.
