The GDR supported other developing nations besides those situated in Latin America. Developing nations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East were also supported by the GDR government. The reasons behind such support include: GDR's need for natural resources found in these developing countries, the imporance of the GDR's political immage abroad in the face of West German competition, and the Russian influence on the GDR government. The GDR fought against imperialism, colonialism, neocolonialism, racism, apartheid, terrorist dictators and aggression for freedom and social progress.
This poster promotes solidarity with North Vietnam in its struggle against the United States who was aiding South Vietnam during the Vietnams War.
