The Hamburg Center for Film Studies edits numerous publications, among
them a series that is based on an annual film-historical conference
in the city of Hamburg (Cinegraph
Buchreihe). It also plans film-related seminars, exhibits and collects
any film-related information in collaboration with other archives.

This institute collects information on German film, as well as the
films themselves for preservation. Its film archive is one of the largest
in Germany. The web site provides access to the archive and the library.
One project of the DIF is the publication of filmographies.

The museum shares a building with a film school (Deutsche
Film- und Fernsehakademie -dffb) and has the largest collection
of film scripts in Germany. Its website offers access to a database
of 400 film titles that can be rented for non-commercial purposes.
