Abstract: Inspired by the events of 1980-1984 in the internal
war in Peru between the state and the Sendaro Lumino, a Maoist
terrorist organzation. A contingent of soldiers arrive to take
control over a remote village. A young soldier sees the brutality
of the terrorists against the people, but he also becomes caught
in the web of confusion, injustices and impotence of the army.
He decides to desert.

Abstract: Twenty years after the Brazilian military coup
interrupted work on the film biography of the peasant leader,
João Pedro Teixeira (assassinated on the orders of a landowner
in 1962), director Eduardo Coutinho managed to complete his work,
however with a totally different significance. Returning to the
Northeast with what he could rescue from his original work, he
begins by assembling the peasants who participated in his original
project (or at least those who survived), showing them images
of the past, and recording the declarations reactions and testimonies
of a sector of society reduced to silence by 20 years of dictatorship.

Abstract: This documentary explores the annual cultural
celebration of the death of Antonio Gil, a former leader of a
group of peasants in Mercedes, province of Corrientes, Argentina.
He was killed on January 8th during the fights between the unitarios
and federales in the middle of the 19th century, much to the dismay
of the people. Through interview excerpts and scenes of the Antonio
Gil Day, the loyalty and compassion of the town is revealed. For
them, it is an expression of faith for what Gil represented.

Abstract: These four "immoral tales" take place
in Lima, Peru; their personages and settings could be those of
any capital city in Latin America. They feature comedy combined
with drama. Their principal conflicts are moral questions, greatly
complicated by a culture in the constant process of change, resulting
in elegant anecdotes of civility, sex, machismo, intolerance,
agressiveness, marginal youth, conservativism, and hypocrisy.
One of these stories is based on the tale, "El Principe"
of the the Peruvian writer, Oswaldo Reynoso; "Mescadeotecnica"
is based on on an original story by Jorge García Bustamante
; the other two are original creations of the individual filmmakers.

infant. Rosa and Manuel flee to join Corisco, former follower
of Lampião, as he is stalked by Lampiao's assasin.

incorporates herself in the group in search of new experiences.
The three odd characters face many unlikely, picturesque, wonderful
and difficult adventures as they make their way through the countryside

by bicycle, wending his way from Tierra del Fuego to Peru, the
Andes highlands, and then on to the Amazon, finally reaching the
Brazilian gold mine where his father now works as a prospector.
Along the epic journey, Martin experiences Latin American reality
and myth, and witness the absurdities and contradictions which
the director, Fernando Solanas, believes represent modern-day
Argentina.

Maracaibo: Joligud) director will be able to transform her into
a film diva. Her fame brings the possibility of salvation for
the people of her barrio, but her story will destroy their hopes

and the couples play cruel games with him, but they are playing
with fire, because he gains the upper hand.

the three of them fall into a romantic triangle, but their lives
pull them apart from each other: Ana becomes a famous writer,
Alicia becomes rich in real estate, and Daniel has his own TV
program. Though they part, their time together has shaped their
lives.

Abstract: A group of young men plot to steal a horde of
silver rumored to belong to an old lady who runs a recycling center
staffed by mentally disturbed people. The plotters think that
the treasure is hidden in the old woman's factory and so they
grab an old, unbalanced street person, get him a job in the factory
and posae as relatives so that they can have a cover for their
search.

the cultural imperialism of the United States in Latin America.
