This agreement creates a framework for regional level cooperation to foster collaboration among the library systems of the University of California at Berkeley, Stanford University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
RLCP makes the circulating collections of each participating library available
for lending to program participants either through on-site visits or interlibrary
loan. Collection specialists and bibliographers at the three libraries also
explore shared purchase agreements to concentrate acquisition efforts in focused
areas. Finally, the program seeks to add other institutional partners, particularly
in Latin America, to join in cooperative programs and digitizing projects.
Faculty, academic or professional staff, and currently registered graduate students at UC Berkeley, Stanford University, and UT Austin are eligible for RLCP privileges. Undergraduate students and visiting scholars are not eligible for RLCP.. Materials requested through RLCP should support teaching, learning, research, and other university-related work.

Articles and photcopies are delivered electronically via the web. Patrons will receive an e-mail notification with directions to access the document from the lending university's server.
If you have requested a book that is in use by another patron, you may ask
that the item be recalled and sent to you. Be sure to check the catalogs of
all three institutions in case the book is available without a recall.
Recalls may be requested by sending an e-mail to rlcp@library.Berkeley.edu with a citation of the book you want to recall.
Send an e-mail to cooperative@stanford.edu.

Send an e-mail to RLCP@lib.utexas.edu providing a complete citation of the item.
UC Berkeley users should return books borrowed from Stanford or UT Austin
via the Book Return chute in the Circulation Desk of Doe Library. Stanford users
may return UC Berkeley or UT Austin materials via the Book Drop or the Loan
Desk at Green Library. UT Austin users must return RLCP books to the Inter-Library
Service office.
Please allow at least five working days before the due date to ensure timely arrival at the lending institution. Be sure the material is clearly marked "Return to" and the name of the destination.
You are responsible for materials until they have been returned to the library from which they were borrowed. Ask for a receipt when returning material to absolve you of responsibility for payment of an item if it becomes lost in the return mail.
Books borrowed through the RLCP program may usually be renewed at least once. Each institution has slightly different procedures. Please refer to the appropriate section below for specific instructions.
