Arctic Council, Conservation of
Arctic Flora and Fauna ø CAFFÕs main goals are: to
conserve Arctic flora and fauna, their diversity and their habitats; to
protect the Arctic ecosystem from threats; to develop improved conservation
management, laws, regulations and practices for the Arctic; and to
collaborate for more effective research, sustainable utilization and
conservation.
Bibliography on
Climate Change and its Impact on Species / Ecosystems - This
bibliography of peer-reviewed and gray literature (including journal
articles, newspaper articles, reports and materials on the Internet) focuses
on climate change (defined herein as global warming or ozone depletion) and
its impacts on flora and fauna species and critical supporting ecosystems.
Over 2110 citations have been included to date and the bibliography will be
updated every two months
EcoNews Africa
(Nairobi, Kenya) ø ENA works with NGOs and community based
organizations (CBOs) in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Djibouti, Eritrea,
Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan. Its objective is to promote active
participation of civil society groups from the sub-region in the global and
regional decision-making that impact national policy, in particular
regarding macro-economic and environmental issues.

World Animal Net (UK and
US) - a network of over 1,500 affiliates in 80 countries that work
together to improve the status and welfare of animals.

FAO Forestry
Programme - Addresses the issue of
how to use trees, forests and related resources to improve people's economic,
environmental, social and cultural conditions while ensuring that the
resource is conserved to meet the needs of future generations.
Inter-American
Development Bank, Forestry and Biodiversity Conservation Management
- The Bank's relatively broad policy allows a spectrum of activities such
as institutional strengthening and research, alongside investments in
forest conservation, rehabilitation of degraded natural forests, agroforestry,
reforestation and appropriate use of products and services from sustainably
