Abstract: Clumping behavior of Olivella biplicata in a large outdoor tank was examined using a statistical test for a Poisson distribution. Clumping was observed in five of the six experiments. The effects of plant and animal material in the tank on horizontal distribution were examined. Avoidance and escape responses of the live snail to several of its gastropod and asteroid predators were studied.
