Adding a Serials Volume Record

1. From the Search screen, click on the Add volume and call number icon. This will bring up another screen.

2. Click on the Current title button (if not already selected) and enter or click on OK button. Another screen will appear.

3. Click on the most recent volume in the location you are adding the volume. It will turn blue.

4. Check what the copy number is.

5. If library says “Music”, click OK to continue. If it does not, go back to 3 and try again. Once you click OK an editing screen with the call number you highlighted will appear.

6. Change the section of the call number after the |z to reflect the new volume. Use the same numbering pattern as in the earlier volume.

7. Check that class scheme is LCPER (scroll through the menu if necessary).

8. Check the copy number and change if necessary.

9. Double-check that the item type and home location are correct.

10. Highlight the item ID field by double-clicking on it.

11. Add a barcode to your volume.

12. Scan in the barcode in the item ID field. This will enter the barcode and save your volume record. A menu will appear.

13. Select Return to volume list and check that your addition is correct in call number, volume number, library, copy number, and location codes.
