Materials Processing

Title: Materials Processing Assistant

Level: I

Starting wage: click here to view current undergraduate/hourly wage scale

Duties & Responsibilities: Materials Proccessing Assistants prepare new library materials for the collection; typical tasks include property stamping new books, scores, and parts, and labeling new sound and video recordings. The Assistant also prepares serials for binding and receives materials back from the Bindery.

Experience: At least one quarter of satisfactory work at the Circulation Desk is required.

Hours: 5-10 hours/week. Flexible schedule, subject to availability of workstation; at least part of the time should fall within the weekday business hours when the Operations Manager is present.
