MCDI 52 Music Library Microtext
The Bach Collection of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Preussischer Kulturbesitz was unexpectedly and happily enhanced in 2001 when the music archive of the Sing-Akademie was returned from Kiev, where it had been kept during World War II. It is now on loan to the Staatsbibliothek. The primary Bach contents of the archive are Carl Philipp Emanuel’s works, including some of his instrumental compositions. Also included are copies of pieces by Johann Sebastian, as well as autographs by another of his sons, Friedemann. In addition there are works by sons Johann Christoph Friedrich and Johann Christoph and also nephew Johann Ernst. In all there are some 4000 pages on 8 CD-ROMs.
