Black Panther Party History and Exploration of the Huey Newton Papers:
Reading vs. Writing

Noon to 1:00 p.m., January 13, 1999
Meyer Library, Room 184

Angela LeBlanc, director of the Black Panther Party Research Project at Stanford and Ph.D. candidate in History, presents Black Panther Party History and Exploration of the Huey Newton Papers: Reading v.s. Writing.

The Project was created to preserve and make widely available the documentary legacy of the Black Panther Party, one of the most controversial organizations of the 20-century African-American social movements. The University permanently acquired the archives from the Huey P. Newton Foundation in 1996 after housing them temporarily since 1995. (see story from the Stanford Daily, March 7, 1996).
