Art and Architecture
While Art and Architecture is not one of the primary Special Collecting
areas for the Stanford University Libraries, the Manuscript Division
nevertheless has some interesting collections of interests to scholars
in this field.
Some notable collections include the Artists collection, Beau Geste
Press Ephemera, Edwin H. Carpenter's North American Indian art collection,
the Barbara Carrasco, the Raymond Duncan Papers, the Conrad Kiesel
Correspondence, the Frank Cheyne Papé Letters and drawings, and
the Maud Williams Correspondence.
Alex Ross, Head of the Art Libary, is the primary individual responsible
for selecting manuscript collections that fall into this collecting
area. For a fuller description of recent collecting activities in
this field, please refer to the Art
and Architecture home page.
