British and Commonwealth Literary Studies
The Manuscripts holdings of the Stanford University Libraries in
the field of British and Commonwealth Studies focus on 19th and
20th Century authors.
Some of the principal collections include the James A. Healy Collection
of Irish literature, the Aldous Huxley Collection, the D.H. Lawrence
Collection, and the William S. Maugham Collection.
Prominent collections include the Alfred Austin Papers, the Walter
De la Mare Papers, the John Galsworthy Papers, the Gibbon Family
Papers, the George Harley Writings, the Herbert Percy Horne Letters,
the Gordon F. Madding Collection, the Frank O'Connor Papers, the
Frank Cheyne Papé Letters and drawings, the Michael Sadleir Letters,
the Wilfred Healey Stone Papers, the Newton Taylor Collection, the
Henry Major Tomlinson Papers.
Curator Annette Keogh is the primary individual responsible for
selecting manuscript collections that fall into this area. For a
