Felton Collection
In
1928, Kate Felton Elkins donated the library of her mother, Charlotte
Ashley Felton, to Stanford. After an additional gift by Mr. and
Mrs. Christian de Guigne, the Felton Collection consisted of 45,000
volumes and selected manuscripts.
The collection focuses on nineteenth and twentieth century American
and British literary figures and its large holdings represent a
tremendous resource for the study of Anglo-American literature.
Included are first editions, important variant editions, and biographical
and critical works; the collection includes more than 1,000 different
authors.
