Derge edition of the Tibetan version of the Tripi·taka

(Call number: BQ1250 1733Z)

Special Collections holds a collection consisting of 215 bundles of the Derge edition of the Tripitaka. Currently, the precise printing date of this edition has not been determined. The printing was done from wood blocks that were produced at the Derge Monastary, Tibet, between 1729 and 1733. The actual printing occurred anytime between the production of the blocks and the early 20th century.
