Correspondents include William Jennings Bryan, Hamilton Fish, eight U.S. presidents, and other American government, civilian and military figures. Lithograph portraits with facsimile signatures of all the presidents from George Washington through Buchanan. Photographs with autographs of all the presidents from Abraham Lincoln through Eisenhower with the exception of President Arthur.

Materials Withdrawn From the Collection

All imprints were transferred to the Robinson Room as books. A British Protectorate ordinance, dated 1653, was catalogued in the K scheme of the Bender Room.

All newspapers were filed with the Early American Newspaper Collection.

Miscellaneous periodicals were plated with the Elmer E. Robinson tab. Those issues complementing existing holdings were cataloged in the Special Collections holdings. All other issues were placed in a locked cabinet in the Robinson Room.
