If you cannot access a site, it may be because

• the computer (server) may be temporarily down
• too many people are trying to get in
• the information has moved to another site or been removed
• you typed in the wrong URL, if you typed in the URL, it must be exact as to upper and lower case for any words/characters after the first forward slash. If the URL is http//www.university.edu/AFRICA and you typed http://www.university.edu/africa you won't be able to access the site.

You could also try removing the last part of the address at the end, moving to the left in the URL. For example, if the URL is:

http://www-sul.stanford.edu/depts/ssrg/africa/niger.html
