United States. Census Bureau: The 2000 Census. Use the Search, use search terms Ancestry Foreign Born Africa 2000. Find population statistics by state. For example, Maryland has 62,688 people born in Africa which comprises 12.1% of the foreign born in the state. The District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.) has 9,208 people born in Africa. The Foreign-Born Population: 2000 (in Adobe pdf) has some national statistics.[KF]
