Proxy Access Status Update (September 2000)

The test version of a new proxy server is now available. It allows off-campus access to resources that were not available at all under the old proxy server, such as Academic Universe, or that did not work completely, such as JSTOR and Project Muse. The new proxy server requires some configuration of your computer. Please see the instructions for using the new proxy server. We anticipate that the new server will replace the old one sometime during Fall quarter.

Resources are available without proxy when the user is on a Stanford IP address. For off-campus users in the local area, the Stanford modem dial-in pool provides a Stanford IP address.
