Native American Studies Collections
(coverage from 16th century to the present)
SUBJECT SEARCHING
There are five subject categories that can be
searched alone or in
combinations.
- Subject: includes all terms from the
following:
- Descriptors: press F2 (Browse); select
Entries; type in first
letter(s) of term. There is a
thesaurus in the Users Guide,
pp. T1-T136.
- Identifiers: Keywords and phrases more
specific than Descriptors
(e.g., archaeological site names).
Search in the same manner
described above for Descriptors.
- Ethnic Group: we recommend you use the Users
Guide, pp. T1-T136,
because the F2 (Browse) command does
not give cross-references
(i.e., use Costano for Ohlone or
Olhone).
- Region: ethnographic regions; use F2 (Browse)
command.
AUTHOR SEARCHING
We recommend use of the F2 (Browse) command:
press F2; select Entries;
type in first letters of author's surname; select
desired author
entries.

you change this
