Parking
From Highway 101 North and South
Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero becomes
Galvez Road as it enters the University. Stay in the left lane and continue toward the center
of campus. Turn right on Campus Drive East. At the third stop sign after the Palm Drive intersection,
turn left at Roth Way. Metered parking is available on the first floor of the four-story parking
structure (Parking Structure 1) at this intersection.
From Highway 280 North and South
Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right at the traffic
light on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. At the
next stoplight, turn left onto Campus Drive West. Continue around Campus Drive West
(going through Santa Teresa, Stock Farm, Welch, Panama, and Via Ortega Intersections)
and turn right when you reach Roth Way. Metered parking is available on the first floor
of the four-story parking structure (Parking Structure 1) at this intersection.
From El Camino Real
Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Turn south toward the hills (away from the
center of Palo Alto). As you enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive. Go through
one traffic light (Arboretum) and turn right onto Campus Drive West. At the third stop
sign, turn left on Roth Way. Metered parking is available on the first floor of the four-story
parking structure (Parking Structure 1) at this intersection.
Parking
After parking in Parking Structure 1, cross Roth Way
at the North/South Mall. Pass the first two structures on your left (Keck Science and
liquid nitrogen storage tank) and then turn left. Walk about 50 feet down this path and
you will encounter the Swain Library, which is located in a one-story pinkish/tan cement
block structure. The Library entrance is on the south-west side of the building.
Metered parking is available in Parking Structure 1 and along Lomita Drive. If you are
going to be on campus for several hours, you may want to purchase a one-day parking permit. See
