Reference Titles Published on CD-ROM Now Available on “Kiosk” Workstations in the Science and Engineering Libraries
In addition to searching Socrates and Internet resources, “Kiosk”
workstations in the Science and Engineernig (SERG) Libraries now provide access
to nine titles published on CD-ROM. Previously, these titles were available only
in one SERG Library. The CD-ROMs are in the graphical interface supplied by the
producer. Window NT and CD-Net software are being used to manage access. Titles
available include:
- Chapman & Hall Chemical Dictionaries
- Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds
- Natural Products
- Organic Compounds
- Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Publications
- McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology
- Merck Index
- NTIS (National Technical Information Service) Index
- Phase Equilibria Diagrams for Ceramists
- Polymeric Materials Encyclopedia
More details on each title and search tips are available at:

More Access to the World's Largest Chemical Handbooks
An unlimited number of current Stanford students, faculty, and staff can now use
the Beilstein Handbook of Organic Chemistry and the Gmelin Handbook of Inorganic
and Organometallic Chemistry Via Crossfire.
Abstracts for papers published from 1980-present in Beilstein are now available
too. Select the database BS97xxAB to search the abstract text.
See
