For information about library hours as well as details about reduced library services (e.g. paging from SAL and document delivery), please see this web page:

Holiday Closure and Winter Intersession Hours

Because Swain will be closed weekends and from Dec 23–Jan 2, users should get 24 hours access to Swain if they need access to the print collection. After-hours orientation tours will be held on:

  • Thurs, Dec 8 from 3–4pm
  • Tues, Dec 13 from 10–11am
  • Thurs, Dec 15 from 3–4pm
  • Fri, Dec 16 from 10–11am

No sign-up is required. Just show up at Swain’s circulation desk to attend a session.

Swain Library’s Operation Manager Takes New Job

2005 Dec. 7

I wanted to let you know that Grace Dunbar Paul has accepted the position of Scanning Operations Manager in Access Services. Grace will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of the Google digitization project for the Stanford University Libraries. During December, she will split her time 50:50, working M–F from 8am–noon at Swain and from 1–5pm in her new job at Green.

It’s been great having her work at Swain but we are excited about the many new adventures in store for her.

Thought you might enjoy reading the Special Holiday Issue of Stephanie Bianchi’s Sci-Tech Library Newsletter. She is a librarian at NSF.

FYI, we are hosting online access to this newsletter that includes news, science policy info, interesting web sites, new e-books, etc.
